This high-end design, restoration and fabrication studio has been doing public and private stained glass, woodcarving and fine art murals. We have made stained glass windows ranging in size and complexity from an eighteen-foot, 3-lancet gothic church window to residential painted flower and bird windows, multi-room murals, 40” diameter jeweled shades, carved residential doors, floral pilasters, and fine art in healthcare institutions, including stained glass ceilings for technical suites (MRI, Linear Accelerator. CT Scanners) and in lobbies, chapels, churches and schools.

The Process: Every project at Sigstedt Design Studio is completely hand-crafted. We consult with clients, planners and architects, recommend appropriate location, materials and projects, then design, execute and install the artwork, including the lighting, as required. We collaborate with our artist-artisans who execute custom-designed furniture, metalwork, frames, armatures, and technical lighting.

We specialize in designing artwork that has distinct purposes such as relieving patient anxiety in high-tech examination and treatment suites, and art for ‘quiet rooms’ in hospitals, for pediatric waiting rooms, exquisite residences, fine dining atmosphere and balanced lighting for residential, commercial and institional uses.

Our disnstinctive style reflects nature subjects. We have done frog and insect themes in lamp shades, stained glass walls which meet painted murals murals as well as local plants, wildlife, tropical rainforests and underwater scenes.

Restorations: *The Studio performed a museum-grade restoration of “The Old Cherry Tree” by John La Farge, done circa 1873 and owned by LeRoy Adventures, NYC. We also negotiated its purchase by Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, CT. *

We expertly restored the badly-damaged “Four Seasons” painted window probably by Edward Burne-Jones and made a large piece of carved walnut lighted furniture to house it.

We restored the 150 year stained glass windows in The Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Solebury, PA. * We restored fifteen antique liturgical stained glass panels and incorporated them intomural-sized bioregion theme corridor windows in The Hospital of Saint Raphael, New Haven CT.
